I was looking for that..I remember reading *something* about it, but at the time it wasn't an issue for us and I just kinda filed it away in the back of my brain.. Then I couldn't find it! LOL! ..Of course, now that it's been cleared up, it's still not an issue, but still... You know, as much as likes that rice milk, I'd like to find something that is a little lower in sugar than that is.. let's see.. casein free, soy free, low sugar.. can I be anymore difficult? LOL! Anyone know how to wean a 25.5 mo old rice milk addict off rice milk and onto juices and water? This is a kid who will go a full day w/o drinking if it's not just the right thing or in just the right container (ask me about trying to wean him off of bottles.. LOL).. He's terrible! Eventually, DH and I figured we were going to have to be tough and refuse to give her a bottle. We knew she could drink from a cup, since she always had her juice that way. (This was when she was still drinking milk). She went over 24 hours without drinking, too. We had to force her to take that first sip of milk from a sippy cup! I told his OT that I can't have him dehydrated and that I'd rather deal with the bottle than that. Guest guest
, you have to just keep offering him a sippy with the liquid in it. My was a hard head when it came to this, but by the second day they will take the cup. I offered both a playtex sippy and a regular cup of liquid. It seems so cruel and hard, but its pure stubborness on their part. a > , have you had any luck with the bottle issue? I have a 32 month old > who REFUSES to drink when I take away the bottle. Guest guest
One of my ds's also refused to leave the bottle. At the time, he would only drink milk (pre-gfcf). So, I put water in the bottle and milk in the cup--either way he chose, I won. It only took him about a day and a half before he decided that he would rather have milk in a cup than water in a bottle. in Houston --------------------------------------- > , have you had any luck with the bottle issue? Guest guest
Try cutting a small hole in the nipple and gradually make it larger -- pretty soon it will be no different than a sippy cup.
