Guest guest
hi there, i have never gone through this, my friend at her 20 week u/s was told that her placenta was funneling outward and she was headed for preterm labor so what they did was took her from work, placed her on complete bed rest and they did the cervical stitch " cercloge " (sp?) did they mention the stitch being an option for you to help prevent the possible problems? i wish you the best of luck with everything, you will be in my thoughts and prayers that all remains well, its really good and positive that all looks good with the baby Hello all, I'm new to the list. :-) I haven't as of yet, had my surgery, but I'm in the very beginning of the entire process. I just wanted to offer to the list, that I know a great deal about cerclages, have had 3 and currently have a 4th in place (permanently). If you have any questions regarding incompetent cervix or the topic of cerclage (or high risk pregnancy), I'd be happy to share with you what I know. I have known a couple of people who have had subchorionic bleeds diagnosed early in their pregnancies. Chele
Guest guest
Hey ... I've helped several moms who had a subchorionic bleed that early in the pregnancy...and NEVER had it become a problem. Never had them on bedrest...never had it cause a problem whatsoever. Now..I did have one client with a later subchorionic bleed that was substantial enough that it caused problems in the third trimester (required induction at 38 weeks...baby ended up not tolerating labor and a cesarean was performed)... But never heard of anyone being put on any sort of bedrest or anything just because of a first trimester subchorionic bleed that was just " moderate " ....so it's probably not going to be anything worth worrying about. they will probably do a level 2 ultrasound at around 20 weeks and check the bleeding then...it will probably have dissolved and you probably won't have any problems with it whatsoever... but I'm sure they'll let you know how everything looks as you go along and they'll keep an eye on you if there is any more bleeding. =) (as a side note: placenta previa is a totally different thing that has absolutely nothing to do with subchorionic bleeds. subchorionic bleeds simply means that there was some bleeding up underneith the chorion in the chorionic villi...that when the placenta was implanting and forming, that there was some bleeding underneith the placenta between the placenta and uterine wall. has nothing whatsoever to do with the location of the placenta...) as another side note...25% of pregnant women bleed in the first trimester. doesn't usually cause a problem. =) Soderblom CCCE CD(DONA) CLD Student Midwife - Mesa, AZ CAPPA Board of Directors Doula/CBE/Pregnancy/Birth Photography Owner: Birth Story Diaries - real births, real photos http://www.birthdiaries.com Owner: SouthwestDoulas.com
