Guest guest
In a simplification nutshell, mammals burn glucose in the first half-hour of exercise, and fatty acids thereafter. But even if you have defects that interfere with either or both of the above, one can still have INITIAL strength, in a static sense before ANY exercise. Way too many neuro docs that know nothing about mito have dismissed my reported exercise intolerance after I've passed their " push against me in various directions " test. They memorize a few " buzz word " diagnostic signs for each disease, and then you just can't reason with them about nuances and expectations. One old doc said " you're quite healthy " because I could push him over. :-) This is the same doc who said that my mito wasn't causing my headaches because mito is " muscular dystrophy " . Of course, that's just my rant about certain docs. Many neuros are more thoughtful. It's just that somehow, in the course of hyper-pressured medical training, snap judgments become a well-rewarded good thing, and the good doctors later (from seeing non-typical cases) learn to be a lot more careful. Steve fats vs sugars someone had posted awhile back and I cant find it..if you have initial strength but then fade out to exhaustion after repetioion of exercise is that burnung fats or sugars? thx
