Hi Holly,

When you look at the prints, is there any turning in of the joints where the

metatarsals end and the phalanges start? Looking back at Emma's foot prints,

the first sign of relapse started with the " ball " under the foot where the

big toe begins being slightly deviated outward. Emma had the rare kind of

relapse where the metatarsals are affected as well as the heels. It was a

mild relapse so it happened very gradually.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. It's funny you say that about your dad

reminding you and your brother to try to walk straighter, I have been

saying the same thing to lately to see if it's just her having

a tired day or something maybe she could correct on her own if she

realized it. Unfortunately, I realize that it is the same as last

time, I believe (not for sure) that it is just the front part of her

feet, not the entire foot. I even went so far today as to have her

stamp her feet with some kids paint on a piece of paper to see how

the print looked. One foot is better (as usual) than the other but I

can see some turning inward in the print but I am not sure that it

hasn't been there to a degree all along. I do think she had some

intoeing even while in the brace but it kept her from going too far.

That is what I am worried about, she has nothing to keep them from

going too far and I just can't turn back now. This has been such a

long haul and I can't let those feet change now, she's always looked

so greatly corrected. It scares me to think that those darn feet just

won't stay put, I hope to god I'm wrong and that she is still on

track. So, I'm going to keep watching and I think I'll know when to

give Dr. Ponseti a call if I have to. I know he won't be back in Iowa

until the end of April so we'll see.

Thanks,

Holly
