Guest guest
is correct. Our daughter is losing weight by limiting her calories to 500-800/day with 10 grams of fat or less. lies either gains or can't lose on 800-100 calories/day with 12-20 grams of fat. Nutritionally both diets are quite deficient in essential nutrients. I've been complaining to their docs for several years that I'm concerned. One finally took me seriously this fall and is formulating a plan (likely more supplements). lies' thyroid function is poor as well but so far no treatment. They want to repeat again in Februaury. that will make aboiut 16 months since Dr. Whiteman wondered if thyroid function was contributing to her weight gain. Guest guest
Joanne I have the same problem as your girls. I need a very low number of calories to loose as they do. I have lost some since being off work. When I feel hungry, I rest. Stress does complicate sticking to this. Eating my main meal at noon has also seemed to help. It is not a fun battle to fight. laurie > is correct. Guest guest
A glass of milk is not 500-800 calories. A low calorie diet as you described usually causes the body to store fat. This is why they tell people who want to lose weight to eat more meals. The body uses calories to burn fat and when it doesn't get enough it starts to panic ans store those calories for later use. It's important to differentiate between 1 glass of milk per day and 500 calories per day...huge difference and you can't compare. bug
