Guest guest
I had many years of infertility before surgery and then out of the blue ( quit the clomid) i got pregnant for indentical twin boys in my own. I had taken clomid with IUI's almost for 8 straight years before that without success. Then I tried one round of those shots that cost 2500.00 for one cycle and no success at all either, that was a IUI too. Anyways, 6 months after I quit all treatments and spent more time praying to god i got pregnant with my twins and did not even know it until I was 10 weeks, lol.. I was shcoked to say the least. ANyways, after they were born i fugured I would NEVER get preo again so i never took anything and I did NOT get pregnant again so when they were almost 2 I decided tot ry Clomid one more time with an IUI and it took first try for my daughter, another shocker for sure. I still did not take anything for a long time and got a cyst on my ovary that the ob put my opn birth control pills to reduce it and after being on the pill for 4 months and then quitting them I became pregnant and Miscarried and that was when my dd was 3 1/2 and then I had my GBS and went back on the pills just to be certain I would not get pregnant and I stopped taking them at 8 months postop and got pregnant again and had another miscarraige, this was 2 years after the first MC to almsot the day. Then 3-4 months after that MC I was pregnant again ( surprise) with the one I am carrying now who is due next month, a boy. So I ahve to say I got pregnant much faster after the surgery since I got repgo 2 times within a few short months of stopping the BCP. I would recommend though that you wait a cycle or 2 after you stop the pills to TTC so your hormones regulate back to normal. The doc thinks that is why I MC both the times after the pill, not that it will happen to you, alot of people get prego stopping the pill and have no problem, but with my screwy system... ANyways, good luck to you. I would start taking folic acid now before you concieve since it helps to prevent birth defects and they recommend starting it before conception if you can. Can't wait to hear your post that you were successful God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
Thanks Robin for your response! I got PG with my daughter right after stopping BCP's and with my 2nd PG too but that one ended in MC as did my 3rd a few months later. Both times I had low progesterone levels that's why I was using Progesterone Supp at the end on each cycle just in case. I called this morning and actually have an appt to see my OB/GYN next Monday so I will see what he says. Thanks, again and congrats on your babies! Guest guest
Hey there! Pam- I had been TTC almost 4 years before my surgery.. I had 2 pregnancies during the 4 years, both ended in M/C. When I stopped the fertility treatments prior to my surgery - I was on 4 vials of Gonal-F, and HCG booster and support boosters.. I had my surgery last July. Last January - I met with my surgeon and we talked about me going back on the infertility treatments since I was still not ovulating on my own. he agreed to go ahead and let me try - as we both assumed that it would take me a while to get pg again - and we had wanted to do a couple of cycles before beginning IVF.. So, in Feb 2004, I started at a MUCH lower dosage of the Gonal- F.. 2 vials.. and had the HCG boosters.. also started on Progesterone Gel.. Lo and Behold - got pregnant! So yeah.. even though I had lost 97 pounds and was within 3 pounds of my goal weight.. I still wasn't o'ing on my own.. so I had to go back on the fertility treatments. But - it worked!!!!! So I am happy as heck! Ya know! Good luck to you and if you want to email personally - please feel free to do so! Trish > Hello all!
