Guest guest
Yesterday I took Max to see Dr. H. for his Cisapride visit. Our appointment was for 1:30. She saw us at 5:15 and had two other families waiting to see her. We left her at 6:30, so who knows what time the other families got out of there! It was kind of a disappointing visit. Max did not grow at all and lost a kilo since February. I was not worried about the weight because she is always telling people to watch their kids' weights and not let them gain too much. Well, she was not happy about his loss and told us that he cannot grow if he does not gain weight. So Max is happily eating peanuts as a snack to increase his calories. I guess that extra 300 calories every few days will add up to some weight gain and HOPEFULLY a growth spurt. She also increased his gh, so between the two, he should grow. Max asked her how much longer he will need to get the gh shots. I think the teenager in him is coming out and he is not liking having to take so many meds. She told him that he has to get the shots until his bone age reaches 16. In December it was 14, so he has a while to go. I'm glad because that means he has more time to grow. I just thought I would remind everyone of this 16 year cut-off in case you want to know how long the gh shots will continue. Dr. H. also LOVED the idea of giving Max Miralax. She had a long talk with him about constipation and it seems that he really has been in this state but did not realize it was a problem. Hopefully it will work its miracles on Max as it has for others. That's all for now. I'm having emergency dental surgery tomorrow, so I may not be online for a few days. I dread this. At least I will get good pain meds! Jodi Z.
Guest guest
Hey Jodi, Sorry to hear that your wait was SO long. Do you thinks it's just because she's been on vacation? Hopefully, he suggestions, and increases in meds will work, and Max will have another good growth spurt! Sorry to hear that you have to go through dental surgery again! I'll pray for a swift, and painless (thanks to good meds! LOL) recovery. Take care, and talk to you soon!
