Guest guest
Ok.....how many of you kept a low carb diet during pregnancy. I am 7 weeks and at the sick stage. The only things that sound good to me are things with carbs...popcorn....crackers....even a bean buritto. Should we push to stay low carb or is that not good for baby? If we don't stay low carb is the weight going to pack on? Thanks Missie 7Wks2Dys

The problem is that ketones are toxic for your baby - which is why every midwives visit they will screen for ketones. Pregnancy is absolutely NOT the time to be doing a low carb diet...it is not considered healthy for your baby, and it sounds like your body is telling you just that. Listen to your body...follow your instincts.... pregnancy is not the time to go into ketosis...it's the time for a healthy well rounded diet with all of the food groups adaquately represented to the best of our ability. Guest guest
I could not stay low carb cause of naseau, not vomiting, but I had to eat alot of crackers and dry stuff and I know it is all for the baby so I really did not worry to much about weight gain. I am 30 weeks and have gained 35 pounds and yes it is disappointing but i will work hard as hell to get it back off. Also it is far less than I even gained with my daughter when i packed on about 80-90 pounds, HUGE difference. God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
All I craved was carbs in the beginning of my pregnancy this time around. I think this also helped me to not have as much morning sickness. When I was pregnant with my son before WLS I ate any and everything........lots of fatty foods and junk food. I was sick for 9 monthes. I also gained 50+ pounds. This time I am making good choices. I have wanted lots of fruit and more natural grains.....although everytime my neighbor bbq's I only want grilled food.... Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old!
