Evelyn,Margaret, , thanks for the advice. I tried " loosing " his

clothes before, he FOUND them (in the bottom of the trash can), and that

was quite distressing to him.

We took him shopping today and he picked out several new outfits. We stuck

with solid colored pants and shorts and print shirts that will match all

the pants. So, we'll see how this goes. The agreement is that he can wear

whatever he wants at the house, but only his new clothes when we go out

anywhere. And yes, I will make sure they are washed well, but it really

doesn't seem to be a matter of " feel " . I have another son with that problem

(we go around feeling clothes when we buy for him). Oh, what fun it is,

being a parent! And no, I wouldn't give it up.

I really appreciate the ideas, who knows at this point, what will work.

I thought it would be Evan that would have the problem with clothes but it

is two brothers that have the problem with 'feel' and tags, etc. Evan will

pretty much wear whatever we give him to wear but will not wear jeans

because they are 'scratchy' and although he wears sweat pants or cotton

slacks he will not wear sweat shirts because they are also scratchy. Tags

have to come off the shirts also. This is probably inherited because I am

the same way and so is his mother.
