Hi-

I have not wrote to you before but your message cought my eye!! I've got a

little girl named Laikyn who also just started the Periactin about one month

ago. She is only 2. She weighed 13lbs 11oz when we started the med and just

last week she weighed 15lbs. This was a huge leap for her, she has not put on

that much weight in a long time. It usually takes six to nine months to gain

anything. I do have one questin for you?? I used to get senokot but can't

find it anywhere? Where are you buying yours at?? Laikyn has huge issuses with

contipation and i really like the senokot for her. It seemed to work the

best. We have been using mineral oil now and I have heard that is not good for

the little ones!! Hope all goes well with the new med. I do recommend starting

out slow. 5ml may be way to much to tolorate even for a full dose. Laikyn is

only getting 3ml and that is full strengh. If you have any questions feel

How wonderful that your appt went so well!! It is sooo hard to find knowledgable

Dr.'s about such a rare syndrome. YOu are lucky!!

I wanted to share my daughters cyproheptadine dose prescribed by Dr. H because

it is so much lower. At 23lbs she takes only 3mls 2x a day. YOu may want to

follow Dr. H's protocol for starting to minimize the side effects. I believe

she starts with .5 mls 1x per day and increases in .5 increments until the full

dose 2x per day. We increased to a full dose once a day and then added the

second dose. Every child is diffferent and If I got this wrong I know someone

will correct me!!
