Guest guest
If my child were loosing keytones during the night would I be able to tell by using a paper strip in her diaper - is this prescription or over the counter? Would this give me the answer I needed to know if my daughter is getting hypoglycemic? Jane (mom to 8 months, 10lb 12 oz).
Guest guest
Hi Jane, You can buy Ketostix over the counter at almost any pharmacy, they're kept with the diabetic products. If she's spilling ketones this is a precursor to becoming hypoglycemic. It might work better to place a cotton ball in her diaper overnight as the diapers are pretty absorbant.
