The good and the bad

Hi all,

Just wanted to share an update on our life. The twins turned 4 last

Wednesday (2/4). They had a birthday party in school and another at

home yesterday. They had such a good time. Of course, wanted

no part of either cake (except to blow out the candles) but he loved

being with all his friends (at school) and family (at home). Becca

was perfectly happy to eat her cake and 's too.

While at school for their party (a rare occurance) I spoke with both

of their teachers and therapists. We are hoping for to move

into an integrated class next year. The only thing holding him back

at this time, is his total disregard for rules and schedule. He will

do what he wants when he wants. This will not be acceptable in the

integrated class, so we all need to work on this with him.

As for Becca, she is doing so well that there is a real possiblity

she may declassify for next year (actually for this summer). That is

good news (she is doing well) and bad new (I don't have full time

child care, and private school for her for next year will be over

$8,000). I told them to let me know when they are doing their

testing so I can keep her up until midnight the night before.

Then today, popped his mic-key button at school and the school

nurse (one of the main reasons we picked this particular school)

could get it back in. My husband had to go running to school, the

bus company had to leave us a carseat at school for (they are

in my car, not my husband's) etc. What a mess. By the time Steve

got to school, they had finally gotten the button in, and was

hanging out with the therapists having a great time.

Never a dull moment, that's for sure.

Judith, Steve, (RSS - zantac, prilosec, periactic, GHT, gtube,

24 lb, 9oz, 33 inches, PT/OT/ST) and (non RSS 38 pounds, 38

inches, PT/OT/ST) 4 year old twins

Judith, it sounds like you have been busy! :o)

Yeah, I know what you mean about never a dull moment. I say that so

much to my husband he is probably about ready to strangle me! LOL!

Hopefully you can get 's behavior under control so he can move

to the integrated class. That sounds very encouraging. At least it

is only his behavior holding him back! Hopefully it will be a smooth

correction for him to learn to follow a schedule a little better.

Boy, I hope you can work something out for Becca. That is good news

and bad news. Maybe you will get lucky and find someone or somewhere

to take her if she tests out. On the bright side, she is very smart,

right!?

Good thing they got the button back in. :o)

Take care,

Jodi R.
