Dr. Von Stein told me that this knowledge about the Achilles healing

itself actually came from studies from Nazi concentration camps.

Apparently, to prevent the Jews from escaping, the Nazis would sever

their Achilles tendons. But what they found was that after a certain

period (longer in adults), they would have to repeat the procedure

because the Achilles would repair itself even in adults.
