Guest guest
My 2 month old, non RSS, daughter has severe reflux. Both of her older brothers also had GER, but neither had it as bad as she does. She has been on 6 different formulas & a variety of meds. We first tried Zantac alone (useless), and then we changed to Reglan and Prevacid. That didn't work either, so the GI increased her Reglan dosage and replaced Prevacid with Nexium. She is still vomiting constantly, not gaining weight well, and screams in pain, especially when she is pooping and refluxing at the same time. I feel so bad for her. We are thickening her formula (Pregestimil) with rice cereal. The Pregestimil is also causing her to have diarrhea & bad diaper rash. Has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, did you ever find a treatment that worked? Does anyone have a child who had a fundoplication without a g-tube? If so, what did you try before getting to this point? Kim C.
Guest guest
Hi Kim, My son had a g-tube at 18 months but didn't have the fundo until last year at 5-1/2 years old. He wasn't dianosed with reflux until last year. We tried the prilosec, but he really needed the fundo. He had the fundo last Fall, is still on prilosec, and he's doing wonderful. The fundo for us was like a miracle cure to his reflux. He had it very severe. Cheryl
