My son was having to get up early to come feed " Miss Baby Cat " of a morning and

again at night. He has cat allergies for starters and when I asked him if he

shook hand with her, he said " H--- No " , I'm not having my eyes watering for a

dumb cat that sits on the edge of her pan and does her pooh-poohing on the

Dollar General Rug that is on top of papers, on top of the plastic, on top of

more papers that are all on top of some kind of one inch plastic thing on top of

more papers. Then besides all that he has to give her water and dry food in the

bedroom where I must have 50 different bags of Science Diet Prescription Cat

Food that all look the same to him. Then he has to come n the kitchen and mix

up Gerber Baby Meat with te special cat

food that he buys for her and then after all that she has the nerve to want him

to shake hands with him, " Forget IT " . At night he also has to water my outdoor

flowers and te same routine with Baby and her food she eats in the kitchen and

besides that she wants a tablecloth (paper towel) to eat on. I called one night

and asked him if he had fed Baby and he said just a minute and he would check

and see, he laid His Home Phone down for a few minutes and then came back,

picked up the phone and said " Yep, but Lucky (his big dog) is still coughing up

fur balls " . He's an idiot but he makes me smile and that's the important thing.

He missed his calling by working all these years as a trackman for Santa Fe when

he could have been a stand-up comedian (without a written script), I don't think

he knows what he's gpong to say when the words come out of his mouth. I do so

hope now that Dr. Welch is sending a referral to the MDA clinic at KU I get

something besides, " I think " . I'm aware that

the first round it would be unusual for a definitive Dx but it would be great.

I'm 69 and they may have to get the Dx from an autopsy if it takes too long

(ha). Thanks for caring and for your concern, Dolores

Glad you are back home Dolores. Something will come about for the cost of the

testing and stuff. I am glad that you were able to be helped. Sounds like

while you suffered problems somehow someone was watching over you. I am glad to

see you have a sense of humor in your descriptions of the food. Those were

great descriptions!

Re: appointments/drivers

This all started a week-ago last night when I appeared to have " lost my left

arm " . I was having " severe " pain in my left elbow that it woke me up and when I

reached for my husbands dresser I thought the dresser was gone. I reached for

it with my right hand and it was still there, so I got my cane and went to the

bathroom and then on in the living area where I stayed for a couple of housrs

rubbing, massaging, etc until the feeling started to return. I figured that I

must have slept on it wrong or something? Saturday around 4:00 I set out some

hamburger, my two remaining slices or " boiled ham " and four slices of bread to

unthaw and boy did it unthaw as I was out for over two hours, the hamburger

blede all over the counter, my boiled ham was not just warm, but Hot to the

touch. My bread could have been used as a weapon if I would have thrown it at

someone, plus my ice cold bottle of water was not even tempid, it also was Hot.

My neurologist gave it a big long name but said that

it

also can be called a " silent seizure " they did a carotid study and they said

I had a light stroke, then Sunday when I started having chest pains I called my

son to take me to ER and shock of shocks, they admited me. When they did the

cardiac cathe thay found that where I had been ballooned in the late 1980's that

I had become unballooed and so they re-did that that valve and put in a stent.

They do say that Sunday I had a light heart attack and they said that my lungs

were so congested that it was surprise that I hadn't gone into congestive heart

failure. They started me on breathing tratments every four hours " around the

clock " . My breathing is much better and they told me to carry the albuterol

inhaler in my purse and to only use it in an emergency as they now have me on a

Nebulizer, they had to go thru a DME dealer at Lawrence that would work with

Gentiva and they delivered it to the hospital so I would have it when I left the

hospital as I would need to start the breathing

treatments as soon as I got home. The did a doppler test on my legs and

showed no clots. My neurologist said with the labs that he and Dr. Einspahr

have squeezed past Cigna and the findings from Stormont that he now is sending a

referral to the MDA Clinic at KU and they will contact me about an appt. I have

no idea what that will cost, but I will find the money somewhere? Thany's

about the jest of it. Dolores

Dear Dolores, Im so glad your back in the conforts of your own home!

Hospitals are great help at times and im glad they helped you but there

is no place like home!! We sure do keep our families on their toes,

dont we. I hope the docs figure a way to control what is going on, im

sure you will get the answers soon, and dont worry bout the cats, our

kids might gripe, but they will always be there for us. Once again, so

glad your ok now and back home!! Hugs, Barb
