Guest guest
I am lactose intolerant as well. I get the special milk at the store and I take calcium citrate pills to get my calcium needs. It is very common after wls from what I have learned. I stay away from most milk, yogurt, ice cream, etc. Cheese is processed different according to my wls group so it does not affect most people. It will also depend on your level of intolerance, some are more tolerate of small amounts than others. Our wls dietician is not confident we can get the amount of calcium we need after surgery from foods so she recommends every wls patient start on calcium citrate pills about 3 months post op. Anyway, is anyone else on the board LI? If so, is it OK to take lactaid when pregnant? What do you eat to be sure that you get enough calcium? How can I figure out what foods contain lactose so I can avoid them? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
