Guest guest
Dr Mosca scared me a bit today when he suggested leaving Kai's foot uncorrected/uncasted (therefore unbraced) for a few months to see how stable the midfoot was! I understand what his intention was - it would be more likely to *stay* fixed if it has stabilized - but his foot is actively relapsing! So we explained that if he fixed it now then Kai would be able to go back into the brace and have a better chance all-together. He agreed on this point and now we have a cute little red knee cast on one very pissed 2 year old! This time they used hard fiberglas, which I think will be better because - like plaster - it has no give, so his foot cant flex inside the cast like last year. The plan it to do 2 casts and to try to literally give him a flat foot so that any regression in the midfoot will just bring it back up to a normal arch height. I will try to take pics tomorrow and post them on CFPics tomorrow when Kai is a bit more agreeable :-) Angel
