Guest guest
Hi , I wish I had some great answers for you. At 38, I am still good for 2 or 3 sinus infections per year and that is after a few sets of childhood tubes, adenoids removed and tonsils removed. The last ENT I saw suggested that I have surgery to correct my partially deviated septum, but so far I have refused. I have found that I am somewhat better if I: 1. Sleep in a cold room (being overheated makes it worse) at night. I wear warm pajamas and blanket for my body, but my nose must be cool at night. 2. Use a humidifier especially in the winter due to the dry air. 3. If my sinuses start to hurt, I swipe some of the children's vicks vapor steam stuff for the humidifier. Good luck, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non rSS) almost 4 year old twins
Guest guest
, Removing foods your daughter is allergic to is not fun but it can be worth it. My son had constant ear infections and sinus problems until we found out about his allergies. Other advice I would give you is to keep the heat down at night, use a humidifier if you can (a vicks vaporizor would probably be better). If you don't use the humidifier or vaporizer, use a product called Boroleum (no presciption needed but you have to go the the pharmacy counter to get it) and put Vicks on the chest or on a tissue near your daughter's head for her to inhale the vapors at night. Good luck
