Guest guest
I was discussing the possible ineffectiveness of iron and calcium in prenatal vitamins with an acquaintenance and she said that it was her understanding that most multi-vitamins were designed to be slow release so that certain vits wouldn't cancel out other ones once the pill is ingested. Here are my questions... Can anyone share their knowledge of vitamins releasing at different times from one multi-vit? Since bypass patients can't effectively absorb any kind of time or slow released meds, are multi-vitamins (if in fact they are slow release) even doing us any good? My concern with the possible ineffectiveness of prenates has had me taking extra calcium and iron (both along with a vitamin C chewable for better absorption) at different intervals throughout the day, plus I do take my regular 1.5 dose of prenate, just because... mostly for the other vits and minerals. I really wonder if those that are relying solely on prenatals without any extra supplements spaced out throughout the day are getting what they need to stay healthy. Guest guest
I have no idea about this but I take a multi and a prenatal, a b-12, folic acid and 2 calciums. I do not take the calcium when I take the others cause i thought they could cancel out or something like that so I take it later on.
