Guest guest
Sheila I guess what I mean is that they are sore, sensitive to the touch. Even in the shower when the water hits them, I cringe.
Guest guest
Lana, I was about a 46DDD when I had my son 2 years ago. I had a horrible time nursing him and ended up with mastitis 4 times in a month before deciding to go to the bottle. I was talking with the lactation consultants and they said that it just depends on to flow of milk, not the size of the breast. I had way too much milk and spent 15 minutes pumping before nursing for 45 minutes and then pumped again for 15 minutes AFTER feeding him! There was no end, I say!! It was quite a bit more difficult to nurse him than women with smaller breasts because you need more props. Laying on my side to nurse him was very difficult on him. Just try it and if it doesn't work, you can go to formula or pumping. If you are having nipple pain, that Lansonah ointment works great. Perhaps you could use warm/cold compresses to relieve any other pain. Hope that helps!! a
Guest guest
Remember too, that Thrush is HORRIBLE and you may not notice you or baby have it at first. Boy, if you think you MIGHT...get it treated IMMEDITALY! They will prescribe a medicine to put on your breasts and you squirt it into baby's checks. I had to quit breastfeeding with my last son because the Thrush was SO bad by the time we figured out we had it...that it was so painful I couldn't let him latch on! And he didn't want to anyway...just hurt too much! Sydney EDD July 10th 2004 Re: breast too big to Breast Feed? Lana? Why are your breasts hurting or why are you expecting them to hurt? Maybe I missed a post about it. BF'ing shouldn't hurt. If it does, then you can explore the reasons why (cracked nipples? mastitis? engorgement? etc).
