Guest guest
Hi Kristi, When I had my son 4 years ago I started him on the playtex system for my pumped breastmilk. Although I used the Avent Isis Breastpump which I think is the best out there. I tried 4 different ones and the avent got the most out of me. I started to use the Avent regular system as he got older after 1 year because my son was so gassy early on it just wasn't good to put even a small amount of air in his tummy. I did not like the avent bags at all they were never as strong or secure (for me) as the playtex system and I had quite a few leaks and breaks. So I used both and loved both very much. I will probably do the same this time...Playtex in the beginning and Avent regular later. Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old! Guest guest
Kristi, this is a great question. My daughter is 8 and I used advent last time. I pumped, stored the milk in a playtex back, then dethawed and put into advent bottles. I HATED them. they constantly leaked. I was told to use advent because my daughter was colicy. I am interested in how things have progressed in 8 years. I think I am going to use playtex this time, but looking for comments as well. Guest guest
I used Playtex with my first daughter (adopted) and was able to use the generic Wal-Mart brand of liners. My second daughter was already a toddler when we adopted her, so we didn't really use bottles at all. When I had my son, I bfd him until he was 7 months, at which time he went on a nursing strike and I decided that was too miserable to put up with, so I switched him to a bottle. We used Avent and I don't recall having any more trouble with it than I had had with the Playtex kind (although those Playtex drop-ins are fantastic and if I were choosing today, it might sway me in that direction). -Kris Check out my eBay auctions! http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=mamakris on 5/7/04 1:34 PM, carrie at southpaww70@... wrote: i used playtex with my first pregnancy and they worked really nice i will be attempting breastfeeding again with this pregnancy and will be storing and placing milk in the bags at times, i got some platex bottles and bag at my shower last weekend so that is what i will stick with again , i noticed that in addition to the bags, they now have what they call " drop ins " (liners) they are included in the box of some of the bottles i got so im wondering how those will be. carrie
Guest guest
We used the Playtex with and will use them again with the twins. I really liked them and have no complaints at all. A friend of mine swears by the advent. But I love the playtex. Plus I think they are cheaper Tricia Proud Mommy to 02/13/01 and Boys Robby and Rhyse EDD 08/26/
