Guest guest
I've never had a numb tongue. Two thoughts come to mind - due to a migraine or a small stroke. Only a doc will be able to make a determination, but I think it needs to be checked out. I'm sure there are lots of other reasons as well. laurie > This is something I can't remember having before and I wondered if it could be mito related. I woke up this morning with a headache on the right side, and my tongue is numb only on the right side. I also have decreased taste ability. my ear feels full or achy, but i am deaf in that ear anyway so don't know if it is affecting the ear. I still went to work but came home at noon. not sick really, just feel kinda blah. I can't tell for sure if it is effecting my vision. If it is it is only very mild. I de seen just a little more blurry reading today, but started having decreased vision in the right eye a few weeks ago. The retinal specilist found a very small bleed in both eyes which he states is now clear. so anyone else get a numb tongue? I go to my regular Dr tommorrow for my yearly check up but didn't know whether to think this was mito. my dr doesn't know anything about mito that I haven't told him. Thanks for the help you all. in Michigan > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
I get a numb tongue when my glucose drops into the 30s, but it is my whole tongue, not one side. I agree with Laurie's suggestions. Barbara > numb tongue > > This is something I can't remember having before and I wondered if it could be mito > related. Guest guest
The closest I have come to that is when I went to see my Opthalmoligist due to sharp stabbing pains in my right eye that felt like someone was sticking a hot needle in my eye. I also had some concern with my right ear and right temple (in the area of my brain tumor on the right temporal lobe that I had a Gamma Knife for). After some further checking with my neuro they said it was all due to trimenigal neuralgia and increased my neurotin from three to four daily. I have narrow angle glaucoma in that eye so my first thought was that but after testing in his office he ruled that out and that was when he talked with my neuro. When I asked him if in his opinion it could be mito related, he said anything is possible with a suspected Mito diagnosis? Sorry I couldn't give any other ideas but thought I would toss my hat in the ring so to speak and relate what happened with me. I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I am always open for any surrestions/ideas/thoughts anyone else has.
