Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Read your post about being on oral contraceptives, did your physician feel they were effective enough for this surgery and what has he said regarding your frequent periods. This inofrmation would be greatly helpful since my daughter had wls last June and 3 months later got pregnant. Her baby is due in June and was just concerned about what is the best contraceptive after the surgery. Thanks
Guest guest
tte, I take Desogen. My surgeon did not see a problem with the pill I am on. My ob/gyn is concerned over the frequency of my periods because of my history of endometriosis. She is going to do an internal ultrasound just to check me out and make sure my endo has not progressed too much. Other people have told me the frequency and intensity of our periods increases after surgery due to the extra hormones being released as our fat metabolizes. I know my ob/gyn is new to the surgery. I am her only patient who has had it, so she is just being overly cautious. Right now I look at it as a two week reminder that I am NOT pregnant, and that is okay! Good luck to yur daughter!! C.
