Guest guest
Okay, I think I am finally ready to listen to how to pursue heavy metals testing. Would someone please provide me with links to specific labs to contact. I find all the info available overwhelming and I get distracted by so many concerns and choices. I just want to find out how I can have myself and my son tested to see if I even need to be concerned. Can some one give me some direction, please? And, let's keep it simple, okay? (Can you tell, I'm on overload, just a bit?) Thanks a bundle! C.

Guest guest
The Simple Answer: The preferred method seems to be a hair analysis by Doctors Data (www.doctorsdata.com) if you have a doc to sign for the test. The results are not so much what they show in terms of mercury levels, but in the skewed pattern formed by the presence of mercury. So you have to interpret the results by what's called the counting rules. But don't panic - you can post your results to the egroup autism-mercury for help with the interpretation. The not-so-simple-answer: if you don't have a helpful doctor/alternative practitioner, there is a lab you can contact for help with getting the test run. I don't have the link, but you can find it through the above egroup. The whole heavy metals issue is fairly complex with much debate over the best way to test & treat. The " files " on the autism-mercury main page contain some helpful info to get you started. If metals do turn out to be a problem, it's worth the effort to familiarize yourself with different dosage protocols and possible side effects. > Okay, I think I am finally ready to listen to how to pursue heavy metals > testing.
