Hi

I just found out that they will be increasing my CPAP pressure from 11

to 17. Do any of you have a pressure set this high or higher. I don't

even know how high the pressures can be set. I do know that I had to

pick out a mask that could be tightened enough to withstand the

pressure.

Hi Laurie,

Many of the children with COngenital Central

Hypoventilation Syndrome that have transitioned from a

trach to BiPAP have pressures ranging from 20 to 25.

The bigger question is will you be able to tolerate

that pressure for both inspiration and exhalation.

The kids are all on BiPAP with lower pressures on exhalation.

Joanne

Actually I have a C-flex which provides a lower pressure for

exhalation. It is my understanding that it is computer adapted for

every breath whereas a bi-PAP has a set exhalation pressure. I may

have to use the ramp the first few days, since this is an increase

from 11 to 17 and my increase a year ago was only 9 to 11.

Thanks for the info. I've used a CPAP for about 5-6 years, but never

looked for more info. I appreciate the info.
