Guest guest
Thanks I wanted to choose a name that 1. I liked the sound of 2. Had significance to me 3. was unique so it didn't remind me of any of the students I have taught and 4. Was not just made up. I wasn't happy about the mini van thing though because have wanted Sienna for years before the van came out and I don't people to think I named my kid after a car. As far as art goes I actually respond best to 3-d sculptural things but do not have the time energy or space that that takes. I was a painting and printmaking major as well as an Art Education major in school so I have a lot of painting experience and enjoy it. Now I guiltily and shamefully have to admit that I only do kid art for school. Teaching sucks all of the creativity out of me and though I love what I do I hate that aspect of my job. I teach at an inner city charter school with an extended year and an extended school day. I usually am at school from 7am till 6pm and at that point do not feel like doing any thing else because I am so exhausted(and that was before the pregnancy now the exhaustion goes beyond crazy). I would love to win the lottery and be a stay at home mom and artist but with the little one on the way i do not forsee much personal art in the near future. - Diane > > I too am an artist and an art teacher and decided on that name for a > girl while i was in college. His brother had red hair and mother and sister have > strawberry blond hair so there is a chance that her hair will be > auburn. The middle name will be Rose named after his mothers middle > name which she got from her grandmother who in turn got from her > grandmother so it is kinda a tradition for his family. Guest guest
Diane, That is a beautiful name. We are having a hard time coming up with a girls name. I want something different but not trendy and my husband wants something traditional. I suppose we will come up with something before August. Best wishes to you!! I like the Sienna minivan too!! Guest guest
dont worry, I dont think people will associate your baby's name with a mini-van. Sienna is a beautiful name. I only know how to reproduce boy babies though, so Sienna is out for me! lol
Guest guest
If you go to Baby Center.com they have a section with all kinds of baby names and the origins of the name along with what it means. We am the same way with boys names and it was hard to come up with one. Actually we finally decided that we would finalize the list if we found out it was a boy. I am glad to have a girl though because I have wanted Sienna for a long tome I just hope nothing " changes " on my next ultra sound on the 26th. The docs were not 100% sure because of the bad position she was in for the last two. I am high risk so I get an ultra sound every 4 weeks so eventually we will know 100% I guess. Well eventually we definately will know 100% when the little one arives I guess. - Diane > Diane, > > That is a beautiful name. We are having a hard time coming up with a girls name. Guest guest
My whole family only produces Girl babies! There has not been 1 boy birth in 3 generations! My husbands family only has 1 girl and 10 boys to this generation so we were wondering if ours would be a little " gender confused " Oh well I am still happy for the girl I was hoping for. - Diane > dont worry, I dont think people will associate your baby's name with > a mini-van.
