Guest guest
What time does she usually eat breakfast? If she normally eats really early it might not be a bad idea to get her up and let her have a little snack at midnight. But then again, is she the type that would be too zonked out to really be able to do this? If she doesn't normally eat breakfast until like 7 or 8 you might as well just wait until after the surgery when she is feeling up to it. Thinking back to when Jenna was that age, I probably would have let her sleep through the night and have her eat afterwards. By the way, Happy Birthday Livi! Couldn't you have picked a different day -- poor dear, having to have surgery on her 1st b-day!! > > Hoping for some suggestions - > > Livi is having surgery tomorrow to lengthen her tendon and possibly > release her ankle capsule- they say nothing to eat after 2am, and she > checks in at 6:30am. > > For any of you who have had kids her age that went through this - did > you wake them up in the middle of the night to feed them? > > She eats dinner at 6pm and goes to bed at 7. Guest guest
I would have LOVED for her surgery to be on a different day! It was supposed to be 2/15, but DH didn't write down the eating instructions correctly and fed her, so we had to reschedule. I had to beg to get squeezed in a month later... as you can see we're getting closer and closer to my due date. Last thing I need is to go in labor while baby is in surgery!!! We had her b-day party yesterday, and it's some consolation that she won't ever know the difference! Guest guest
I think I would wake her up for a feeding. s. Parents who have had 1-year old in surgery - feeding question? Hoping for some suggestions - Livi is having surgery tomorrow to lengthen her tendon and possibly release her ankle capsule- they say nothing to eat after 2am, and she checks in at 6:30am. For any of you who have had kids her age that went through this - did you wake them up in the middle of the night to feed them? She eats dinner at 6pm and goes to bed at 7. Maybe I should get her up at like 1:30 am and give her milk and a snack? Or would that be crazy? Guest guest
You may have already went to bed and decided to sleep through the night by now, but my vote would be for going to bed a little later (probably too late for that now, huh?!) and having a bedtime snack. Sometimes if you wake them up in the middle of their sleep after they've had a good amount it's near impossible to get them back down and then she may be awake begging for something. Good luck with surgery!
