Guest guest
I am not writing in search of comfort, but I did want to share a personal story with you all to help put some things in perspective here. I know that lately we have gotten onto some pretty hot topics and the posts have been flying and there have been some hurt feelings, so I think this will help ground us a bit... Yesterday the son of a family friend, at 14 years old, hung himself in his bedroom closet. His dad found him. There was no note to my knowledge and there was no indication that he was in distress. The family is financially well-off, three boys in private school, a mom and dad who provide everything for their kids, etc, etc. Apparently a friend of this boy () had committed suicide a week earlier. It is not uncommon for teens to react in the way that did - no warning, nothing - just a great deal of pain that he did not share and he saw no way out of. Give your kids a great big hug and kiss and tell them how much you love them. We do it every single day here. You never know what lies around the corner. Jodi Z. Guest guest
Hi Jodi, That certainly does put things in perspective doesn't it. Even in the midst of the nuttiness of the day (alway something different!) I try to remind myself that the kids are only little once and that each moment is special. Anyway, I hope that this doesn't upset Max too much. Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) almost 4 year old twins
