is 32 weeks too early or is that typically the time when the stitch is

removed? and, once removed, can anyone make and educated estimation of how long

her

pregnancy will last before going into labor?

Usually the cerclage is removed at 36 weeks... and if one has a an

incompetent cervix.. labor usually starts very soon.

I have known women to go into labor that night... and some take up to 2 weeks

with continued bed rest.

32 weeks is a bit early to purposely have the baby unless there are some very

real valid medical reasons.

My son was born at 31 weeks.. and he was relatively unscathed... except for

some global developmental delays...

34 - 35 weeks is SO much better then 32 weeks....

While it is great to trust your practicioner... in this case I would question

all the actions and maybe seek another opinion.

This of course is coming from a preemie mom!

I have had two cerclages, and both were removed at 34 weeks when i

went into labor. My doctor would have loved another two weeks, but

no such kluck. As far as I know, the only reason they would remove

it would be because of infection or labor. I am hoping that I will

make it closer to term with baby nmber three.

thank you julie and mary for the input :) im going to pass this

along to my friend,it really seemed to me also that 32 weeks was a

bit early especially if labor began as soon as the stitch was

removed, shes been through enough thats for sure! thanks again, hugs

carrie :)
