Guest guest
Hi all, I am at my wit's end and just need to VENT! Where to start? How about our IEP for (non RSS). has her own set of issues. Besides OT/PT, she has some sensory issues and is breaking down into whining/crying at home and at school for no reason that we can see. Her ST (which she tested out of for next year and rightfully so) recommended a neuropsych evaluation and play therapy. Our local school district (the twins are in preschool) approved the evaluation and decided that play therapy would be approved after the evaluation. After a zillion phone calls, THERE IS NO ONE IN MY COUNTY WHO IS ON THE APPROVED LIST WHO DOES A NEUROPSYCH ON A PRESCHOOLER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am waiting for the county to call the school district to call me to decide what we do next. The preschool thinks we should see a developmental pediatrician instead and found one that they think is on the county approved list, but the school district is still waiting on the county for the neuropsych. The preschool wants to add play therapy and additional OT/sensory for next year, but we are stuck on hold. So far I got three calls from the preschool today (why don't they ever call my husband???) because Becca broke out in her 3rd rash in three weeks (it is contact dermititis and we have an appointment scheduled with the allergist in 2 weeks). Then they couldn't find the letter authorizing them to give her benadryl (substitute nurse today) so I had to redo that. The last time they had this nurse she messed up 's pump and he only got 1 hour of formula instead of 2. I am swamped at work and won't be here tomorrow because I have to take a seminar to keep up with my continuing ed requirement for my CPA license. I got called for Federal Jury Duty. The courthouse is an extra 45 minute commute from my house and you can't bring a cell phone. How in the world can I afford to be out of touch? I called Dr H's office and begged for a letter explaining RSS and 's pump and that I have to be accessable by phone. I hope that works. Thanks all, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 4 year old twins
