WHY NOT DO ANY OPEN WITH DYE? THAT WOULD SHOW MORE. HAS ANYONE SAID ANYTHING

ABOUT THAT?

I need to have closed MRIs of the brain and cervical spine.

I had open MRIs done and another brain cyst and suggested myelopathy was

noted. Radiologist and Neuro feel closed MRI will give more information.

Did I mention I am a claustrophobic, extremely fearful chicken who feels

great anxiety just thinking about MRIs?

I have had the " closed " experience and just about clawed my way out. I do

not wish to humiliate myself again.

Neuro suggested ativan. (I would prefer to be unconscious.)

Has anyone had any experience with using it and did it help?

Thanks for any insight anyone can provide.

Humiliated,

Marie

Marie,

We went the ativan route with Kira and she did very well. It seemed to be

just enough to keep her calm. Good luck! You can do this~

My daughter, 32, with suspected mito takes Ativan daily for anxiety.

She has had no side effects. She has been given IV Ativan for MRI's

and has done well.

Please don't feel humiliated. I know a lot of people who are

claustrophobic in an MRI. Good luck with your MRI.

Marie,

Please don't feel humilated I am also a claustrophobic and am also very

fearful of MRI'S my son takes ativan as needed when in an episode he has severe

cyclic vomiting syndrome and severe autonomic dysfunction all secondary to mito.

I know when he has his MRI'S he takes his ativan and I know when I need another

one I am asking my doctor for something to help me get through it. I have had to

be pulled out a few times lol take care.

Hugs,
