Guest guest
" ...the presence of parasites in a patient can make candida related complex difficult to treat. An article in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine states that it is believed Candida infections can become resistant to treatment because of parasites, such as amoebas, nematodes, Giardia lamblia, and cestodes. There are many tests for parasites, including blood, urine and stool tests. One problem with testing for parasites is the failure of some labs to detect parasites in the samples sent to them. One way to increase your chances of getting a correct diagnosis is to make sure your doctor, hospital or diagnostic lab follows the guidelines set by the Manual of Clinical Microbiology and the Centers for Disease Control for the testing of intestinal parasites. A new method of testing for parasites, called immunofluorescent staining, shows remarkable promise by making parasites easier to see in the lab specimens. One lab that uses such staining is Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab in North Carolina. How could you have developed a parasitic infection? Common sources of parasites include pets, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Our pets, esp. cats and dogs may carry a variety of worms or other parasitic organisms. To avoid picking up a parasite from your pets, wash your hands frequently and speak to your vet about prophylactic parasitic treatments. Surprisingly enough, parasites can be found in drinking water if the cysts (or eggs) haven't been properly filtered out. Water from rivers, lakes, and streams may also be contaminated with single-celled parasitic organisms. Although you may not intentionally drink water from these sources, if you participate in outdoor water sports such as water skiing, swimming, canoeing, or any other similar sports, you may accidentally swallow infected water. Perhaps the most common source of parasites if from contaminated food, specifically raw meat. When raw, the following foods may contain a variety of parasites: fish, beef, port, lamb and horse meat. Raw oysters, mussels and clams, esp. those from the east coast of the U.S. also can be contaminated with a wide variety of parasites. Raw chicken can carry bacteria and viruses and sometimes parasites. Vegetables especially can harbor parasites. The best way to avoid parasites is to thoroughly cook your food and never eat anything raw, esp. fish because it usually contains worms. Be sure to wash your hands after handling raw meat, and do not put your hands near your mouth. Avoid contaminating the surfaces of your kitchen, and thoroughly wash the utensils you use to cut meat. Also, keep separate cutting boards for meat and fish, and be sure to thoroughly wash all vegetables and fruit. As for removing parasites from the body, Dr. Chaitow, author of " Candida Albicans " , has had an 80% success rate with candida related complex patients by using high-dosage probiotic supplements. He recommends the three probiotic supplements, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and bifidobacteria. The treatment generally lasts between 8 and 12 weeks. Another natural way to rid the body of parasites is with citrus seed extract, which is frequently used in other countries to treat parasitic infections. " Needless to say - colloidal silver is invaluable with parasites as well - and is very safe taken properly. some other fungal infections would be: jock itch, athlete's foot, ringworm or infections of the nails or skin. I got this article from a candida newsgroup. Moses.
