Hi,

My hubby works abroad so Ive been flying out to see him without any

problems with the cast on.

Her Tenotomy is due to be cut and therefore the cast will be on for

three weeks.

Would it be safe to fly say a week after the tenotomy and fly back

two weeks later?

Or because of the cut is their more risk of swelling etc.

She has flown numerous times with the cast on without problems. Its

only a two hour flight.

Any info appreciated.

Hi Julz

We flew from Iowa to NY the day after Tenotomy on both feet, it took us

about 6 hours with connecting flights and then 3 days later we flew 17

hours back to Johannesburg. Dr Ponseti told us that it was fine to

travel even the same day but we left the next morning. The Tenotomy was

done about 2:00 pm, so it was less than 24 hours. We gave some

infant paracetamol the evening of the Tenotomy, but nothing the day we

travelled and he was fine.
