Lori,

How did your husband react to his big V. When mine had his done and came

out of the Dr. office, I felt sorry for him, but I couldn't help but laugh at

him, he was as white as a ghost and his eyes were as big as saucers. It was

pitiful, but funny too!!! I don't think it was one of his better days!!!!!!

Barrier methods? Is that where one of you puts a mattress up against

Maybe it's the aspirin method. No, wait, Dr. R. said no aspirin.

Hmmmm. Laurie, in your case, maybe you should try the aspirin method

anyway. It works like this: You take one aspirin, put it between your

knees, and hold it there. Snarf!!

This reminded me of a joke. How can you tell when an elephant has her

period? There's a quarter on your dresser and your mattress is missing.

Dr. R addressed this with the group on Saturday. Since I am 57, I didn't tune in

clearly. But

he did suggest barrier methods as birth control. Maybe some of you who are in

your child

bear years can comment on this. Hey, I know, I'm sure Lori was listening closely

to this part

of Dr. R's answers....(only kidding Lori).

That's exactly what I told him. LOL LOL that I was sorry but he didn't have

a clue what real pain was like. They didn't have epidurals when I had mine. I

was in labor for close to 60 hours and then they still had to take my first

one with forceps, 2nd child was much easier. I told him it was hard for me to

" feel his pain " after that. LOL LOL

Birth Control A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. The father being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind his hand. "That's a serious step," he said. "Have you thought it out completely?" "Sure," his young son answered. "We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers. It's right across the street, so I can run home if I get lonely in the night." "How about transportation?" the father asked. "I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles," the little boy answered. The boy had an answer to every question the father raised. Finally, in exasperation, the man asked, "What about babies? When you're married, you're liable to have babies, you know." "We've thought about that, too," the little boy replied. "We're not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I'm going to step on it."

There have been several answers to the birth control question -- and it has been

posted several times. I agree with Sheila that your daughter needs to consult

with her doctor. The only 100% form of birth control is abstinence. EVERYONE

needs to decide what form to use by talking to their doctor and weighing their

individuals circumstances. There are limited forms of BC available. And we have

attempted to cover all the forms here.

There are methods of sexual activity that can be practiced without birth control

in which no pregnancy will result. But that is a personal subject that is

probably not appropriate for widespread conversation on this list. Anyway, the

best thing to do when it comes to birth control is to consult -- as Sheila said

-- with your individual doctors.
