Guest guest
Hi, I was taken to the ER last Wednesday evening by ambulance and then admitted. It started out with a migraine and progressed into vomiting, chills, rigors, muscle pain, cramps, and spasms, urination ceased and a fever of 104.0 ,etc... It was a line infection, and we knew this before I left by ambulance, b/c my Docs had me hook back up to my TPN to see if it was a PICC line infection or an infection with my J tube. Of course I knew it was my PICC line, but I had to hook up anyway. I am finally home from the hospital and found out that my PICC Line was growing a gram negative bug. Awaiting the rest of the cultures. Due to the infection my muscles are killing me and i can hardly walk up my steps. They are heavy with cramps, spasms, and pain. Even the arches in my feet are cramping up.I had an appointment with my Pain Management Doctor yesterday and I ended up seeing his Assistant. She prescribed me a muscle relaxer called " Robaxin " Generic name " Methocarbamol " . All of my Mito symptoms and the symptoms I had from the infection all fit into the Side Effects paragraph, the Precaution and some of the medication I am on even shows up in the Drug Interactions paragraph. Has anyone been on this medication for muscle spasms, or muscle cramps? I am hesitant to use this medication. I guess what really pisses me off the most is that this new Assistant doesn't know me or anything about my Mitochondrial disease. I was going to go back on the Flexeril but she said this medication is less drowsy. I know I have to call my Doctor but I was just wondering if anyone has used this medication and if so did it help you or not? Thanks Hugs, Ann-Marie -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
