If you are worried about anemia/low iron I would request blood work ASAP and then supplement from there. I am very queezy and dizzy and have been feeling near death for the last 12 weeks.. I am hoping it ends soon! Especially since I am driving 1200 miles to NJ in less then 2 weeks! Anyhow.... I have been taking the Flinstone chewables with iron a few times a day... I too was low iron with my first baby.. that was PRE surgery. Right now I am really only eating Dense fiber/wheat breads and some apples and some peanut butter... sometimes cheese. I have no stomach for much else. LOTS and LOTS of women have healthy , normal babies following WLS. I would just focus on getting the right foods... eat many small meals... drink the water... and wait patiently for little one to arrive.. Guest guest
Hello all- My name is Christy and I am 31 and live in Minnesota. I had Gastric bypass Surgery In 1998. I started at 275 and lost 120 plds. I am 5'10 and am pregnant with my second child . I have ben reading some of the posts and am really shocked at some of the things I am learning that the docs never told me. I was so anemic with my first baby--it was always at a 8-9 and I slept the pregnancy away. I delivered a 6'13 baby and he was so skinny-(both sides of our family make 9-10 lb babies). I know he was malnourished but gained all he needed and is a healthy litle boy now. I am really scared with this one about getting anemic again and not getting the right nutrients to this baby. I am also scared about gaining tons of weight because I eat like a horse with this one! haha. I have these queasy dizzy spells once in a while too--what are they?? Would be awesome to chat with people that have had the same kinda story as mine --I do not have any support system because I chose to keep my surgery private and never told any Family or friends (which I regret now). I would love to hear of others stories! If anyone knows of other sites that might be of my interest please pass them on also. Thanks!
