Guest guest
Ok, guys I have one more thing to add. I think it is a MAJOR misconception that if you have this surgery that the surgery part is the hard part and that the rest is easy. Let me tell you as someone that is not right out of surgery it Can be hard to maintain or not gain! Like I said from those that I know many of whom are even 10 years out, you can gain.... you have to work at it. Again, I know this has been said before but the surgery really is a tool. I also think that it can be harder to lose after pregnancy from what I have experienced and from friends who have had children post-op. My personal goal is to stay as healthy as I can so that I can live a full life with my hubby and watch my son grow up. (which I know I could not have done at 420lbs!) But, some actually do delay the inevitable, because they do not change there habits or fix other factors that contributed to why they were morbidly obese. I know those that have had WLS multiple times and failed! There is so much involved is why we become overweight, and it just concerns me that there are so many misconceptions about the ease of weight loss. Believe me I wish it was a miracle cure, and honestly I still consider myself a success! But, I have also seen women do great harm to themselves and there babies because they could not handle the gain or felt as failures because they had difficulties. The truth I have seen, is just that this like other things in life is a blessing but there are some complications that can occur. My, worry with the post was that she had the perception that it was " easy " to drop the pounds, when for some it may but others have a difficult time. Just my opinion!
