Guest guest
What a great guy! I emailed him this morning asking if he could make Darbi a pair of shoes and he's calling me within the hour! Of course, he can do it and is sending some impression kits for her. I asked about the insurance coverage issue and found out something interesting, and good... apparently there's something he's able to do to these shoes that qualifies them as AFO's. So as far as insurance coding goes, they're AFO's and covered as such. I am not quite sure what it is he's done to them, but he mentioned something about the heel area and is going to try to get some pics to send to me since I'm curious. I'm now in the process of finding out what our new insurance will cover as far as durable medical equipment but now I can tell them that they're AFO's which should make it a that much simpler. For those of you who will be getting these in the future, I'm sure it'll be a whole lot easier to get them covered by insurance since everything I've ever heard about AFO's is that they're not questioned at all. YAY! Kori
