Guest guest
Hi there, Here's what my OB said. Basically prenatals are multi vitamins with extra folic acid and iron. Since I was already supplementing iron because of WLS and folic acid from before I conceived, she said I didn't need to change my vitamin regimin at all because I was pregnant. She did warn me about the vitamin A issue. She said try not to get more than 5000mg (or micrograms or whatever) a day. The children's vitamin I was taking (some generic store brand) had 5000 in it and the protein bar I ate had another 2500. That made me a little nervous so I found that Flinestone's Complete had only 2500 in it of A with the same amount of everything else, so I dished out the extra $$ for that. Any way, I'm sure just like WLS surgery, there are as many opinions as there are doctors out there. Good luck!
