My husband was diagnosed with Mito last summer...nothing else until then even

though he had ptotis and other problems for over 40 years...now, he is having

problems with swollen foot...checked for gout on three occasions and got

negative results...this time we were sent to a podiatrist so he is treating him

for gout...seems to be better this morning...am wondering if others have this

problme.

I know it is under the MDA umbrella of MD but it is so like MS it is

scary...

guess that is why many of us were misdiagnosed as MS...

can we take a count of how many were misdiagnosed as MS im curious....

Kathy

I get swelling in my feet (often only the left one) when I retain

fluid as a result of over-doing it. I need to walk a little to

maintain good circulation, but keep my feet up when possible.

A swollen right foot can be due to cardiac issues. Has he had an

ultrasound of his leg? Swelling in a foot can be due to reduced

circulation in the leg from clogged arteries (my dad had this in one

leg and then the other from blood clots).

I hope your husband gets some answers.

Thanks Laurie for you reply. We have an appointment again with the podiatrist

this week and will ask about the ultrasound of his leg....his foot is much

better today. I appreciate your input....this is where I get much of my

information as the doctors here are not very knowledgeable about Mito. Also, I

am looking for a website that would give the acronyms that are used here...some

of the short cuts are familiar to me but many are not. Thanks again for you

help.
