Guest guest
, If Jonah is not eating, it is because he is not feeling up to it. He should be offered food, but not forced to eat it. Start with clear liquids first. As he begins to take in more by mouth, they can lower the IV accordingly. If they lower the IV and he does not eat, then he will only get sick again and spill ketones and his bloodwork will be out of whack. There is no harm in starting up the Periactin again as long as he can keep it down. That may give him a jumpstart on eating. Let Jonah be the guide and don't rush. Most of our hospital stays for this sort of thing have been five days. We never leave until Max is eating enough calories on his own for 24 hours.
