Guest guest
I don't think you are gaining too much. I am 29 weeks and have gained 32 pounds. i think I was around 20 pounds at 4 months, can't remember, but i think you are doing well weight wise. My doc and noutrition lady wanted me to gain up to 35 pounds so i know I will probably go a little over but I will get it of after. I am sorry you lost one of your babies but so glad you found out there was another. Just do your best eating healthy and take all your vitamins and make sure to get rest. Guest guest
I am 4 months pregnant with my first child. I had surgery 2 years ago this July. In February I had a miscarriage and then 3 weeks later found out that I only miscarried one of the TWO babies I was carrying. I was told that my body will be getting confusing messages because it will react as though this is a twin pregnancy since I am still carrying the sack of the " lost " twin and will have to deliver it when I deliver the other baby in October. All medical scales are basing me as a twin pregnancy and I have gained 16 pounds so far! The doctor doesn't seem worried due to the twin issue but I really don't think she understands how I am different from average women in this regard. Wouldn't you say that all the weight I put on over taht of a single pregnancy is my OWN fat? Fat I will be left with after delivering only one baby? Has anyone every been through anything like this with any advise for me?
Guest guest
I would think that as long as nothing continues to grow in the sack, i.e., baby, placenta, fluid, it shouldn't account for a lot of extra pregnancy weight, versus body weight gain. I'm currently 26 weeks with twins and have gained a total of 5 lbs, and at this point the 2 placentas, 2 bags of water, 2 babies, and extra blood production more than account for all 5 of those pounds. Hmmm... maybe the specialists know more about this issue, but it doesn't make sense to me that if you have nothing growing in the other sack, it would account for additional weight gain.
