Guest guest
, Four or five rounds of clomid did NOT work for me using clomid alone. First round of clomid with IUI after discovering that I have cervical issues WAS a success. If you are having issues that can't be helped with clomid, then, no, clomid won't work for you. You Dr mus do other testing to see #1 what the problem IS before deciding what route to go to fix it. I saw one OB who just prescribed month after month of clomid. Didn't do or suggest anything else. Well, guess what? I changed dr's b/c this one wasn't as agressive as I needed him to be at 36 years old! I was referred to an excellent fertility specialist, had blood work, took clomid, had trigger injection to release the follicles, had IUI and a positive preg test all in the first month of clomid WITH IUI. If your Dr wont do any testing to see what your problem is, you need to speak up and ask what does he think the problem is. (If he has already done this, forgive me b/c I am moderator on several boards and miss posts some times). All the clomid in the world won't help if you can't get the sperm to the egg! Have you had a laparoscope? hysteroscopy? HSG? fertility blood testing? D&C? (these are all things my first two OB's did at my insistence b/c I was tired of taking clomid month after month). I wish you the best. Being a victim of secondary infertility myself, I can commiserate with those of you who long for a baby but haven't been able to get pregnant just yet. Month after month of seeing the basal body temp rising 24-48 hrs before your period starts (where it generally stays high if you are pregnant) and also seeing the red streaks of blood on the tp just broke my heart) Hang in there and pray alot! Guest guest
, I just wanted to add a couple things. Clomid does not work for everyone, however it usually takes 2-3 rounds to know if anything is happening. Do you by any chance (or did you) have insulin resistance or Type II diabetes? I have PCOS and many women with that drug cannot conceive with the Clomid alone, but when taken with Metformin/Glucosapage it works most of the time. Is your doctor testing your progesterone levels for ovulation at all? I ovulate on day 23, but most doctors I have seen give up on day 16 or 17. Please do not lose faith that your day will come. Thank goodness your insurance covers some infertility since most do not. Injectibles are a pain, literally, but a friend of mine has done them twice and conceived her first time with both attempts! Make sure you talk to your doctor about hyperstimulation, which happens a lot with injectibles, but can also happen with Clomid. Not sure if your doctor told you this either, but don't do more than 6 rounds of Clomid because it up's your chances of cancer. That is why a lot of doctors look to something else about 2-3 rounds in to it. Anyway, I really hope I have been able to help you some with info, but if nothing more, I will be praying your turn is coming soon!! a
Guest guest
, Clomid makes many women wired, wicked, frazzled, mean, grouchy and freaked out, so look on the bright side........at least you know it's working! lol
Guest guest
, Clomid worked fine for me. I took 100 mg, days 3-7. My RE feels that this dose is the most effective and that the lower dosage doesn't work well. What dosage are you taking? Maybe you just need a higher dosage? I took 100 mg, days 3-7 then had the sonogram on day 13 & also had an hcg trigger shot... Lynne
