Guest guest
Hi , My sympathies with your situation. I began being ill in 1979, so I have been doing this a long time and for most of that time, on my own with no diagnosis or the wrong diagnosis. My method of dealing with it was observing my symptoms and trying to determine cause and effect. Taking a natural approach to attempt to relieve symptoms. Knowing my limits and what triggered problems. I have had lots of GI problems. Only one part of that time, did I have bleeding. Scopes showed nothing and they also tagged me with irritable bowel at that time. I was convinced it was milk products because I had been noticing discomfort when I had them, and the day I ended up in the ER with bleeding diarrhea, I had pudding the night before. That scared me enough to stop dairy products, and I found a diet group that used home made yogurt that after fermenting for 24 hrs would have no lactate in it and I could eat that no problem. I never had bloody diarrhea again and that was over 10 yrs ago. Of course that wasn't the end of my problems and I have trouble with lots of foods, etc. Had a test last year showing dysmotility. You could try making your own yogurt and fermenting it for 24 hrs. It is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. And substitute the milk for that. If you just can't try that now, you can buy lactaid milk, which is what I use now. That is fine for me too. It would be worth a try. I'm sorry I don't know the signigicance of increased eosinophils. But if he has had a diagnosis of a problem that causes bleeding than I would think that would be reason enough for his symptoms, wouldn't you? Is there a way to treat the bleeding? Do they know the reason for it? Could any of the meds have as a side effect, anything that could trigger/worsen the bleeding? Have the doctors suggested anything to stop the bleeding? If he continues to bleed how can he eat? I would think that would be their top priority. I know nothing of his bleeding condition so excuse me if I say the wrong thing. How long has it been since he was able to eat normally? Has he ever had to take digestive aides to eat? As I said before, I only had the bleeding issues once in the past, but I have been at the point where I could barely eat a number of times. I have to be very careful of what I eat. I try to have two liquid meals a day and in half portions, and other foods in one meal a day. I have been taking digestive aides for a long time and don't think I could eat without them. Even taking digestive aides, I still have some trouble and when I do, if I have not been taking probiotics, taking them has turned everything around for me. Adam <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Adam, I wonder about his meds but he didn't start any meds around the time that the nausea worsened. He has had more GI bleeding lately and I'm afraid that that is the problem. The GI wants to scope him again. He has had increased eosinophils in the past and I do wonder if that, along with the von Willebrand's disease (bleeding d/o), contributes to the abdominal pain and nausea. The GI is wondering about adding an irritable bowel diagnosis to the mix but that really is more of a garbage can diagnosis as it is often given when nobody really knows what the problem is. We dont' do anything simply in our household. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
