Guest guest
Hi All, I'm one of those people who reads everything here, but rarely posts. My youngest child, Destiny, has RSS, but is on the mild end of the spectrum. We haven't had the challenges that some families here face, so I usually feel that I have little to contribute. However, I have benefitted from your collective wisdom and I hope I may do so now. At our last pediatric visit the doctor found her to have clonus. All I know about it is that it is an abnormality in her reflexes that means she has some sort of damage to the motor neuron in the spinal column. Of course she'll have to have more tests. I'm currently looking for insurance that I can afford. I'm self-employed and a single parent but with the monthly payment from a settlement I recently started to recieve over Destiny's father's death, I think I have too much money coming in for medicaid, even though we're just scraping by every month. When I looked for information on the internet about clonus I found that it was connected to multiple sclerosis among other things. Now I'm doing the parental stress-out. Destiny is a green belt in Taekwondo and loves tournaments, especially sparring and weapons (I just posted pics to the photos section under Destiny S.) It kills me to watch her go through her form kicking with the wrong leg because as she says " the other one didn't want to work " . I know in the worst case scenario she has the spirit and the inner strength to cope, and she's very bright, already reading well enough to read this post, I just had to send her out of the room because I don't want her to know how worried I am or what it's about. Anyway thanks for listening, I know if anybody can understand how I'm feeling right now it's you guys, I just hope somebody knows more about this than I do right now. , Mom to Fawn 27, Josh 21(in Iraq with the 101st), 15 and Destiny RSS, 5-in-a-minute 39in 34lbs
