Guest guest
, My four year old son Jake had a full craniofacial evaluation a couple of months ago. He was evaluated by an ENT, pediatric dentist, oral surgeon, plastic surgeon and a speech pathologist. We wanted to know what was ahead of him in terms of any possible work and wanted to get a time table for any procedures. Basically they said due to his crowding teeth, they would merely pull a couple of adult teeth to make more room (the docotr said he had the same thing done to himself as a kid). And they wouldn't do anything for the small jaw since his upper palet and lower jaw were even in size, they wouldn't adjust both of them, that they only do that if they don't match. The other comments were that they could pin back his ears and he could have a chin implant to make his chin larger. Of course, neither of these are " necessary " , but they wanted us to know they were available options for Jake at a later date if he wanted it. I am curious to know what other families have done for similar issues. Alison
Guest guest
I had 4 adult teeth (and 7 baby teeth) pulled when I was a teenager, as well as my wisdom teeth (the latter at age 20). That, plus 3 years of a bite plate, 4 years of braces and 3 or 4 years of nighttime retainers was all I had. My chin was small as a very young child, but as I grew up, my chin grew as well and I don't think it's particularly tiny in relation to the rest of my face now. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up 38y, 93#, 4'6.75 "
