Guest guest
Joanne I don't know about how good your lab is. However I thought I would share my experience with my thyroid labs. Especially since it seems that your girls and I have a lot in common. Eg: pacer, heart defects, myopathy etc. I have been dx'd with Thryroid hormone resistance. My body makes enough thyroid hormone (barely enough, it is usually on the low side just within normal) but it doesn't use it well. It took me ten years to get this dx. In the meantime I had definate clincal signs of hypothyroidism. I went to Dr. Yo at UCSF and he dx'd me. I must say he was only running the tests to make me feel better. When he got the results and found that even on a high dose of T-3 my TSH was normal, he was very surprised. That is when he made the dx. YMMV I also know what you mean about Doctors not wanting to treat you. I have had two that outright refused to treat me. It is frustrating.
