Guest guest
Hello!! I just got off the phone with Heidi (some of you might know her by her email address which is: Mom2Kidz3@... ) She is in the hospital(MGH) and asked me to please update the group on her condition. She had her G/J tube surgery done on Friday and is recooperating. Surgery went well and they are now starting her on small amounts of pedialyte through her J tube. She told me to tell you all that she can't wait to get out of the hospital and go eat some Tai food and then vent/drain it out of her G tube!! hehehehe She couldn't eat Tai food any longer because it wouldn't digest but now it won't matter b/c she has the G tube to take care of that. So once she heals she will be able to eat whatever she wants and let the G tube take care of the problems. At least she will be able to still eat orally and taste the food. She said all the doctors and nurses have been great and are taking good care of her. She wanted me to tell you all that she is on the 21st floor with a fantastic view of the River(I think that was the name) and that in order to get onto the 21st floor you have to be buzzed up by security. That's right....she is on the VIP FLOOR!! She LOVES it and said that her room even has REAL furniture and a Refrigerator. And of course the room is private with the luxuries of a fancy 4 STAR HOTEL. She said she has no idea how she got that room, but my guess is that she is on the " NUT CASE FLOOR " but they didn't want to tell her that hehehe >:-} Sorry Heidi , I just had to say that since most times when Mito patients go to the ER they think we are NUTS!! Before her G/J tube surgery she had tests to show the surgeon where to place the J tube and how well her intestines are working. One of those tests is called a 24hour Manometry test and it is not a pleasant test at all, actually I heard from some that it can be painful. That's all for now. Please keep Heidi and her family in your thoughts and in your prayers for a quick recovery so that she can come home and the whole family will be all together again.
