Guest guest
I read in a quality broadsheet today that there have been findings that children with learning difficulties including ADHD and ADD are benefiting from using Omega 3 fatty acids supplements instead of medication. There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding the use of such drugs as Ritalin for ADHD etc. and in search of an alternative, people are turning to these supplements. Omega 3 fatty acids are contained in fish oil supplements such as Cod Liver Oil which are available at health food shops and pharmacies. According to the studies, they have been shown to help with learning including maths, reading and writing, as they help with the electrical impulses that make the connections in the brain. So it would appear that all our children could benefit from these supplements. Just thought you all might like to know of this. Guest guest
I agree with those findings Barbara. Olivia has been on meds since birth for chronic constipation and I had been looking for alternative ways to get her to when I kept coming across Hemp Hearts. After we had her on them for about 2 weeks everyone noticed a big change in her, she was actually sitting at circle time at school, actually sitting down for lunchtime and so forth. Her attention span increased dramaticaly. They are higher in Omega 3 fatty acids than the fish oils are and more easily digested. While we still have to use meds for constipation we have seen an over all improvement in her, I highly recommend them!
