Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Thanks for letting me know that I am still a strong Woman even though I had to give in and hire a housekeeper. It was actually harder for me to admit that I needed help with the house than it was for me to know it was time for a scooter. I also felt that my privacy was being invaded. I kept thinking this lady is going to be looking at personal things, touching my personal things, etc... But I am dealing with this change quite well. She is a real sweet person, young and really enjoys her work. It seems that it won't be long before she will be a friend. She offered to take me shopping or anywhere I wanted to go. I haven't been shopping for personal things, or with girl friends in ages. I always feel I am a bother when I go with friends b/c I am slower and take so much time and need so much help. I just might take her up on the shopping day. :-) Btw, how are you feeling? Did you get any results from the Gamma Knife? Guest guest
Boy, am I ever trusting that the Gamma Knife did its stuff and halted the growth of the tumor! I have written that tumor right out of my life, even though it is still sitting in my brain. We won't know for several more months yet. The effect is slow, they say, but works in 90% of the cases. My hair even grew back on the bald spot, which they told me would be permanent. Thank goodness they were wrong on that one! Guest guest
So far my Gamma Knife has kept both of my brain tumors under control, they are supposed to be just taking up the empty spaces in my brain so that dust won't collect (ha). I didn't think it was quite so funny the night after the Gamma Knife though as both of my eyes swelled shut and scared my husband to death. This was in 1996 and they do yearly MRI's to check on them, I do so you continue to have good luck with yours as I am sure you will.
